OUTFIT | HOME FROM HOME

29 June 2015

ZARA tee, H&M old denim shorts (similar), Adidas Stan Smith trainers, Stradivarius bag

Don't we all have that one pair of jeans or denim shorts that you've had for so long and you just can't get rid off, because you know you will wear it every year? These shorts are that "thing" for me. I bought these H&M Boyfriend shorts when I was thirteen, which is a good five years ago, and they come back every summer. I absolutely adore these shorts and the fit of these shorts that it's just a bit of a waste to throw them out. I only wear these shorts during my holiday, so it's not that weird that they still look quite alright. I am thinking about maybe getting a new pair, but if I would, I could never get rid of these shorts, because they kind of have sentimental value now. It reminds me of my holidays to Marbella, which basically is my home away from home. Do you have an item in your wardrobe that you just can't get rid off because you wear it during a certain season?

DIARY | THE SUNDAY POST

28 June 2015

My summer holiday started last week and ever since the day I handed in my last essay I started making an endlessly long list of things I want to do this summer while I have my days off. I thought it would be fun to share them with you, so when you're bored and don't know what to do this summer, I can inspire you to do stuff like this. So here it goes. (This post was inspired by my friend Ellie's post.)

  • Have a picnic in the park with friends.
  • Have a BBQ (in the park) with friends/family.
  • Learn all the tech-stuff about my camera.
  • Go on 1-day trips to different cities (Brussels, Antwerp, Amsterdam etc.) with friends.
  • Read lots of books.
  • Find lots of inspiration for upcoming blogposts in museums, exhibitions and nature.
  • Have dinner at the beach and watch the sun set.
  • Use more disposable cameras for this summer's memories.
  • Visit exhibitions.
  • Go to foodfestivals.
  • Discover new, cute coffeeshops.
  • Create the perfect iced coffee.
  • Make rice paper spring rolls.
  • Learn how to make mum's amazing Indonesian food.
  • Create the perfect watermelon drink.
  • Stroll through the dunes in my hometown.
  • Stroll through nature.
  • Find amazing new restaurants in my hometown.
  • Basically have lots of food.
So this is what I would looove to do this summer. I kind of want to appreciate nature, my me-time, learn all about my tech-stuff so I can create much better content and find lots of inspiration for upcoming blog posts. Oh and of course food. Because my life basically consists of food.

I hope you are inspired to make a little list of things you would like to do this summer, or I maybe even inspired you to do one of the things that is on my Summer to-do list! Hope you have a wonderful and sunny Sunday!

OUTFIT | DAY TO DAY WEAR

27 June 2015

Mango shirt (similar), ASOS jeans, Converse All Stars trainers, ZARA bag

This is my day to day wear. A comfy, slightly oversized shirt, a pair of jeans and trainers. It's something I always grab towards when I don't know what to wear, when I feel lazy or when I just want to be comfortable. A slouchy shirt always looks good. To accomplish a slightly oversized shirt, I usually pick shirts that are at least 1 size bigger than my "normal" size. So yes, I do walk around with shirts that are sizes L, XL, XXL, but I kinda like that look on these shirts. And to be brutally fair, if I would get it in my usual M size, I would like a sausage and would not be able to pull off this look.

I still think that this, slightly too large, Mango sale bargain is one of my best buys this year (that's a statement), but it was from last season's sale. So I linked another one up for you guys that's pretty similar, that I kind of love and want to buy too. Because everyone needs to own a casual shirt like this! I don't mind having 100 slightly oversized shirts, I would use them all.

OUTFIT | SUPERSTITIOUS

26 June 2015

Topshop coat (similar), H&M t-shirt dress (similar), Birkenstock Arizona's, Monki bag

Rushing seems to be something I am really good at lately. I've been rushing around to get ready for a meal out and seem to have been doing absolutely nothing at all today. I am really good at leaving things until the last moment. Like today. So I have to get out the door as soon as possible, so I tend to throw outfits together, like this one. Super easy but still kinda cute!

OUTFIT | HOLD MY HAND

25 June 2015

Mango leather jacket, ZARA tee, H&M Studio shorts (similar), Boohoo shoes (similar)

Is summer finally happening?! Today was the first day during Summer that I was able to wear shorts and I decided to go all out and show off my stripey H&M Studio shorts that I bought on sale last week in Amsterdam. These shorts are really out of my comfort zone, as I normally would go for black bottoms, especially when it comes to shorts. However these really appealed to me. They were the last ones in the store and they were my size. It was like they were meant to be, so  I just had to pick them up and run to the till to pay for them! How gorgeous are they?! They give off such a summer pyjama shorts feel, and I am all over that kind of comfort right now!

OUTFIT | WHAT YOU KNOW

24 June 2015

Primark coat (similar), Old Vogue NL tee (similar), ASOS jeans, Adidas Stan Smith trainers, Mango bag

This coat is a real lifesaver during this cold summer. Today's the first day since a long time that the sun has been shining, but it's still not quite as warm as I would like it to be, so what do you throw on when it's too cold to go out in just a tee; this coat. It's perfect for throwing on when your in a rush or when you don't know what to throw on or anything like that. This coat somehow manages to make you look like you put in a lot of effort, even when you haven't! Good one Primark!

OUTFIT | FEATHERSTONE

23 June 2015

SheInside waist coat*, Mango vest top (similar), ASOS jeans, ZARA boots

I absolutely adore this waist coat again. It feels like forever since I last wore this and now that we're able to go out without wearing coats, I feel like I can finally pull this outfit. I am now planning on also getting this one waist coat that I found on ZARA, but I'm trying to postpone going onto ZARA until their sale starts. There's just too much on my wishlist. Waistcoats spice up an outfit without having to wear an actual coat during summer. Perfect when you want to wear a black coat, but don't want yourself and your makeup to melt off in major heat.

OUTFIT | SUMMER WHERE YOU AT

22 June 2015

H&M coat, ZARA blouse (similar), Noisy May shorts, Adidas Superstar trainers

It's officially summer, but we're sadly enough dealing with autumn-ish weather here in the Netherlands. I have spent my afternoon chilling on the sofa while watching Geordie Shore and Judge Geordie because of the weird weather. Buckets of water literally fell out of the sky. I'm kinda annoyed that the weather isn't as good as I imagined it to be, as I have lots of blog post ideas in mind which I kind of need the weather to be summery for. Luckily enough I am able to at least shoot outfits inside with kinda good lighting, so here's what I would wear if the weather would allow me to wear it. I've been obsessed with these shorts from Noisy May, it is such an affordable brand over at ASOS!

OUTFIT | NO GREY

19 June 2015

H&M jacket, ZARA tee, ASOS jeans, Mango bag, Adidas superstar trainers

It has been one of those really cold and windy days here in The Netherlands. As much as I would like to work my tan, it simply isn't possible because the weather doesn't want to cooperate.. Luckily enough I have a few other ideas of things to do this summer, which I will make a list of. I thought it would be fun to sum up all of the things I am planning on doing this summer, inspired by Ellie's blogpost which you can find here!

OUTFIT | THE CULOTTE

18 June 2015

ZARA top (similar), Primark trousers (similar), H&M shoes

This is my first time wearing my culottes that I got at Primark. I'm not sure if I can wing this whole culotte trend and I'm not sure how to combine it, but I will figure it out somehow. I figured that this cropped top would look pretty good with it, considering that it's cropped and the culottes are a bit high waisted.

My summer holiday started yesterday and I decided to go on a quick trip to Amsterdam. I felt like I needed to get into that summer spirit, but sadly enough the weather isn't as summery as I thought it would be by now. I'm hoping that will come soon, because my legs are like a ghost's legs that's how pale they are.

OUTFIT | CROOKED SMILE

16 June 2015

ZARA shirt (similar), Mango trousers (similar), Boohoo shoes, Stradivarius bag

It has been a while since I last posted a blog post. It's been about three days! I am back now and I am happy to say that I have finished my last assignment that I have to hand in tomorrow morning. That also means that summer is just around the corner for me. It's been really hard not thinking about summer while studying for exams but I somehow managed to do it! I am now off to an event in Rotterdam and I'll be wearing this exact outfit. The trousers have been rediscovered and I think I might be in looove!

OUTFIT | SUMMER STRIPES

12 June 2015

Primark dress (similar), Boohoo shoes, Stradivarius bag

Summer weather calls for summer dresses. I bought this dress at Primark last week and LOVE it. I love myself a good stripe! However my legs are very pale! So I have been studying for my exam outside all day today and I am hoping to have worked up a little bit of a tan. My legs just don't seem to get tan anymore. It's embarrassing haha! Happy Friday, Happy Weekend! Hope you have a good one!

OUTFIT | EVERLONG

11 June 2015

Primark coat (similar), Bershka dress (similar),  Nike Air Thea trainers, Monki bag

I completely forgot about this dress from Bershka that I bought around this time last year. It's such a lovely pieces that I plan on wearing a lot again! I love how I just seem to rediscover lots of summer clothes from last year that I forgot about. Some of the stuff I rediscovered really have to go though. It's so weird how your style can change within one year! I seem to get a lot more inspiration from all the Australian bloggers nowadays, which of course, makes you want to be as cool as them! So I'm secretly, step by step, trying to be as cool as Aussie bloggers. But I doubt that will ever happen! ;)
