TRAVEL

MY MOMENTS IN FEBRUARY

Last week has actually flown by, the main reason: The flu that I caught for the second time in about two months. It seems as if there are a few different types of flu going around, and I am hoping I just now healed from my the last flu of this winter. Because I have been spending most of my time last week in bed, it kind of felt like February was over already last week. Instead of posting this post last week, I thought it would be fun to share a few of my favourite moments of February today. It seemed right, as I just came back from a spontaneous trip to Brussels with my friend. But more about that later.

MAKING SENSIBLE CLOTHING PURCHASES

Welcome to part two of finding my Spring/Summer 2018 style. This post is a little update on the blog post I wrote two weeks ago about finding my SS18 style. In that post I already talked a bit about how I was finding it very hard to find clothes on the high street that looked good on me. I can’t pull of the ‘70s, ’80s or the ‘90s styles, and to be honest, I don’t like those clothes all too much. After sharing this dilemma in that post, you let me know that you would like to see updates on every now and again in finding my SS18 style.

If there’s one thing I would like to think that I am better at now that I am 21, it is making sensible clothing purchases. When I was younger, I used to be such a clothing hoarder. Who’s with me when I say that I leave tags on clothes, because I am unsure about them. Then throw them in my closet, to find them hiding somewhere in the back of my closet 2 months later. By then it’s too late to return them and I basically lost money. This is the story of my life. But I’m trying to better, so before I go on a major finding my SS18 styleshopping spree, I am sharing a few tips on how to make sensible clothing purchases. Let this be your cheat sheet for making sensible clothing purchases.

QUICK AND EASY BANANA BREAD RECIPE

Lately I have been trying to be a bit more healthy, as I feel like whatever you put into your body reflects on your body, skin and mind. I am a major food lover and have a huge sweet tooth. I could easily eat whole packages of chocolate chip cookies. It's honestly so bad for you, so now that I am trying to be a bit more healthy, I feel like making your own banana bread is such an easy, healthier option to have when you're craving something sweet in the morning, or while having your evening cuppa tea.

HOW I GOT OUT OF MY BLOGGING RUT

Hello, I am back again. This week has been quite uneventful, as I spent most of my time this week in bed curing yet another flu. Thankfully I am finally feeling better again and I now only have to blow my nose every 10 minutes instead of every 5 minutes, so I feel like that's a massive improvement. This past few days being in bed all day got me thinking about the blog though.

I guess the fever just went to my head and made me 'realize' things (gosh I am really hard trying not to sound like Kylie in that one clip). The realization that came to me in this feverish state is that I am finally enjoy blogging again. I feel like I am finally writing content again, that I am proud of. Last year I may have lost a bit of my passion for blogging. I never really knew what I wanted to talk about in blog posts, I was just feeling pressured to blog and was never truly satisfied with the content I created. Quitting isn't something that I like to give in to, so I just kept forcing myself to write blog posts anyway. However, towards the end of January I got this sudden boost of inspiration, motivation and willpower. I wanted to get back into things again, because as much as 2017 was a lovely year, I felt like 2017 also was the year I pressed pause in my life a bit.

HOW I DESTRESS BEFORE BED

In Saturday's post I already mentioned that I tend to overthink as soon as I get into bed. This year I made it a resolution of mine to destress a lot more before I go to bed. I try to be more aware of actually going to bed at night, whilst trying to let the events that happened throughout the day go. There are a few steps in my night routine that I need to do before I actually go to bed. These are the steps in my 'destress for bed' routine.

THOUGHTS OF AN INTROVERT

FINDING MY SS18 STYLE

BACK TO BASICS MAKEUP ROUTINE

The past few weeks have been quite stressful to me. I had a difficult time at uni and was really starting to notice it while sleeping. It had quite an impact on my skin and I started breaking out. Instead of covering up my face with lots of makeup throughout the day, I actually decided to massively decrease my makeup routine. That way I wasn't clogging up too pores and I could still feel somewhat confident while I had my breakouts.

I basically copied my makeup routine from when I came back from holiday. However I did make a few tweaks here and there. I started using older products, I went back to basics. Besides that I also started using a few products that are new in my collection. Not only are the makeup products in this routine very limited, it also makes my routine in the morning even quicker! Which means we can have an extra five minutes in bed and have breakfast in the morning, which is a first for me.

TURNING 21: LIFE LESSONS

In my last post I already talked about 21 things about myself. I decided to write the post because yesterday was my birthday. I actually ended up having a really lovely, chilled day with my family and will be celebrating it a bit more this Saturday with the rest of my family.

In my 21 things about me post, I also talked to you about how I have learned quite a lot in this past year. Now at first I wanted to write a post talking about 21 life lessons. But I am not sure I can even come up with 21 life lessons. So for now I am just going to stick with a few life lessons I have learned over the past few years that really helped me grow up and become the person I am today. Now I feel like I am never truly done with learning lessons in life. I am very much looking forward to learning even more life lessons while getting older and older.

21 THINGS ABOUT ME

It is my birthday tomorrow, and I have never really done one of these post before, I thought it would be fun to share 21 things about me. Why 21 things? Well, I am turning 21 tomorrow. I never really thought of doing these sorts of posts, but I want you to get to know me a bit better. I have talked about myself on the blog before, but I am not sure if you understand why I talk about certain topics on the blog.

So before I turn 21 tomorrow, I would love for you to get to know me a bit better. And vice versa, tell me some facts about you too.
