MOMENTS IN MAY

Happy last day of May! I can’t believe how fast this month actually went, but it probably has something to do with me being sick for a good two weeks. It’s been a lovely, but quiet month, but I am still very grateful for the month I have had. Scratch that, this month started of quiet, but soon resulted in me feeling very stressed because of a few big uni deadlines. It's good that those deadlines are over now, as I can now enjoy and take a bit of a breath again. This month pretty much has been about the small thing in life, as I had such a busy month, and I can't wait to share them with you.

My cousin moved to my hometown

Now this might not seem so exciting to any other person, but in the beginning of the month I heard the great news that my cousin was moving to The Hague, which is where I live. She used to live in Leiden, which isn’t that far away. However, now that she has moved to The Hague, we will be able to see each other so much more often. This is great to me personally as I consider her and her sister as my sisters/best friends whom I can talk to about pretty much anything. Her taking this step to move to The Hague will probably bring us even closer, which is just so very exciting!

I went to see Sam Smith and he was AMAZING

On the 5th of May I went to see Sam Smith live and I was blown away by how incredible he is. Sam Smith would have to be one of the best artists I have seen live and will see live. He has just an incredible voice and left me with goose bumps during pretty much most of his songs. Besides the fact that he was amazing, he also had a really incredible band and his background singers were amazing. They each had such powerful voices that also left me covered in goose bumps. Sam’s voice is just very touching and he nearly had me in tears during a few songs. I would highly recommend anyone to go to his concert if you would ever be interested.

We’ve had incredible, warm days during May

May definitely has been the month of amazing and summery weather. We have had a good two weeks worth of incredible summer weather. Despite the hay fever, which was actually killing me this month, I have just been so appreciative of the gorgeous weather. These past days I was looking forward to getting home from work and being able to enjoy this weather in the garden for a bit. This got me feeling so very excited for my holiday.

I got to catch up with friends who I hadn’t seen in forever

This month really has been about the small things in life and it has definitely been these small things that kept me going through this month of deadlines and stress. So when I finally got to see two of my friends again last week, I lived of their positivity and energy. Seeing them made me so happy and was definitely what I needed before I had to hand in one of the big projects. We got to catch up, made memories and promised to see each other again soon. This was definitely a mood boost I needed during that time, as I was extremely tired because of big uni deadlines. Thankfully I managed to make the deadlines and now get to see my friends again soon.

I finally got to relax and take a breath during this last week of May

And finally after handing in my deadline (on a Sunday!) I got to chill out a bit this week. I finally managed to enjoy my evenings again watching Netflix or some other series. I also finally have time to read some blogs again. Sometimes uni deadlines just take over your life and there’s nothing else you can focus on besides uni. That’s why it feels so nice to finally be able to sit back, relax and take a breath again. It’s these moments in life that I definitely need nowadays. I use these moments to recharge my battery and look for some new inspiration for posts on the blog.
