Mango leather jacket, ZARA stripey tee, ASOS jeans, Nike Roshe Run trainers

This outfit is pretty much a contrast from yesterday's outfit post. Somedays, aka almost every uni-day, which is a good 3-4 days a week, I tend to go for extreme comfort. Extreme comfort in my case is a pair of black jeans, my leather jacket, both usually involved with some sort of striped tee. Hair up in a messy bun and I am ready to go. I have this great "development" I think you could call it, where I can get myself ready and out of a door within 30 minutes and I think I finally managed my key ingredient to being able to do that. Always going for this stripey top, leather jacket and black jeans with a messy bun in the hair combo. I seem to always be running late when I am off to uni so a routine that used to take me a good 45 minutes, now only takes me 30 minutes which I secretly am very, very proud of.

Topshop coat (similar), COS tee (similar), Noisy May shorts, Boohoo shoes, Céline sunnies

The transition from winter to spring/summer is always a weird one for me. I have to get used to not being able to wear jeans and jumpers all week. So I kinda feel like it takes a long time for me to actually go barelegged without being cold. The weather is finally starting to get summery, and I feel like I could rock a bare leg every once in a while. Although I still think it's bloody freezing. I'd rather walk around in black jeans until it's a good 26 degrees outside so I know for sure that I won't freeze or will be cold.

Do you get used to different weather quick? Or are you like me and just like to wear jeans most of the time so you know you won't be disappointed/cold outside?

ZARA white blazer (similar), Brandy Melville tee, ASOS jeans, Birkenstock Arizona's, Monki bag

The weather has been really lovely lately. We have an occasional cold day here and there but we're lucky enough to hopefully get some good summer weather soon. This outfit that I'm wearing is one I wore on Sunday when I wanted to be comfortable. Brandy Melville tees are perfect if you want to be comfortable! They're really soft and I enjoy wearing the ones that I own. Which reminds me... I need to hop into Amsterdam soon to get myself some more of these comfy tees!

24 May 2015

Oh The Sunday Post... It has been a while. The past two Sundays were spent either in bed or ripping pages out of magazines for school projects. I have come to the end of my term and that means being kinda stressy!

This week has been quite eventful. I spent my days on trains and even went to a museum! We have this project at school that involves going around town and having to write about it later on. Naturally I chose to go to something I actually enjoy; 1-2-3-4 by Anton Corbijn. It's an exhibition of all of the bands and singers Anton Corbijn photographed. It was such a lovely and inspiring exhibition, that I highly recommend seeing that if you're in The Netherlands and specifically in The Hague during this time of the year!

Other than going to art exhibitions I haven't really done anything else! I have been stuck to school lately and if I'm not busy with school I usually try to relax as much as possible. So just a few more weeks to go until I officially have my summer off! I can't wait for my summer off, so I can go spend some

Summer quite literally is right around the corner. I usually post these wardrobe essentials posts at the beginning of either Autumn or in this case Spring, but I seem to have been so caught up in other projects that I completely forgot about this project. So here it is; my summer wardrobe essentials, before it actually turns summer and I have no actual clue of what clothes I still need/want to get into my wardrobe.

The Tee dress

You would know that I am completely and utterly obsessed with t-shirt dresses, unless you've been living under a rock for most of the spring months of course. I am a big fan of the fit on me, so it's no surprise that these t-shirt dresses are included in my summer essentials post. I love the stripey ones just as much as the plain ones. These are from H&M and can be found in store if I am correct. The ones I own have had their best time and I am currently looking for replacements.

The Camisoles
Of course, my camisoles came back. They're a big must for me during summer and I like getting them in as many colours as I like. I usually go for black and white camisoles, as they go with absolutely anything. Buuuut I did come across a very pretty blue-ish/purple camisole, a colour I would normally never pick up, from Topshop. Camisoles are so easy to throw on whenever you don't have a clue of what you want to wear. The ones showed above are from Topshop, Zara and Forever 21. Primark en H&M also do some great cheap camisoles that I am still dying to get my hands on.

The Basics
Next are "the basics", an essential throughout the whole year. I usually get my basics at Zara, they go some really good tee's and last for around a year, then I throw them away and get a few new ones. If I feel spendy, I might hop into COS, All Saints or & Other Stories to get some more long-lasting basics.

The Outerwear
Finding coats to wear in summer without overheating isn't that big of a problem in cold and rainy Holland. So I would say, have a leather jacket ready for the colder days. My leather jackets usually are from Mango or ZARA.
If the weather decides to be really really summery, but you still have to deal with cold mornings, I would say; go for either (or both) a trenchcoat or a duster coat. Whites are really hot this year, and I'm still on the hunt for a pretty white duster coat. Forever21, ASOS and H&M usually do really good duster and trenchcoats. If you're looking to spend a bit more, I'd say go for ZARA.

The shorts
One of the few things I seem to lack in my summer wardrobe is a good pair of shorts. I've got my favourite boyfriend fit denim shorts, and of course have a few cute pairs of shorts, but that's pretty much it. Fringe is on trend this season so when I rediscovered my leather shorts I was delighted. They've become a bit too big now, so I might look into buying another pair soon. As I said before, summer whites are also big right now, so I'm still trying to find the perfect pair of white denim shorts. I've seen a couple over at Mango, Zara and Pull & Bear that might make the cut.

The Jeans
Ah jeans. How much I love my black jeans. I am in desperate need for some new pairs of jeans as all the ones I own usually are black. Black jeans are in my opinion the only jeans that look good on me. So I only own black jeans and 1 pair of boyfriend jeans. It's safe to say that I need to invest in a pair of white jeans, maybe even a pair of grey jeans if I'm feeling adventurous

The Smart Trouser
The smart trouser. A trend that, to my surprise, actually looks good with my short legs. Most of my smart trousers however are black and black can get quite overwhelming during summer, so I think I might have to invest in a pair of smart white trousers, maybe khaki, something I've seen at Urban Outfitters. Zara, Mango and ASOS also do some really good "smart trousers" if you're also on the hunt for a pair.

As you can tell I still need to invest in a few summer wardrobe essentials. I, of course, own a lot of shorts, skirts and all of that from last year, but my style has changed quite a bit. I've been into minimal clothing a lot this year, so it's not surprise that I want to invest in more minimal, maybe even a bit structured clothing instead of wearing prints that are all over the place.

21 May 2015

H&M coat, Zara tee, ASOS leggings, River Island hat (similar), Forever 21 heels, Stradivarius bag

Imagine strolling down the streets in these heels, killing it while spending money like there's no tomorrow. Okay, reality check; I would probably wear my Adidas, or my Nikes, because I don't know how other girls do it, but I can't walk around on heels all day long! I honestly envy you if you can.  I am not a heels person at all, but I like to spice things up from time to time. So I decided to go for it. Heels can be quite uncomfortable, especially when you are a trainers-kinda gal, like I am. To be brutally honest I didn't even leave the house with these heels on. I had dinner plans and ended up leaving the house in a pair of trainers, because let's be honest; who wants to wear heels when you know you're going to be walking to a restaurant, right!?

20 May 2015

Forever 21 coat, COS tee, ASOS jeans, BooHoo shoes, Mango clutch

What a surprise, I am wearing a different colour than black or black and white! I combined grey into it all and I kind of like the look of it! I feel like now that it's really starting to get warmer I like to incorporate some whites into my wardrobe and I feel like a white duster coat in white is the perfect solution for this. I would usually go for a black (duster) coat, but I - like I said - absolutely love summer whites and want think this might just be my new summer thing! Speaking of my love for summer whites, it also came to mind that I haven't done my Spring/Summer wardrobe essentials post yet this year, but I've had this post ready for ages, so finally expect that post going up this week!

19 May 2015

H&M jacket, Monki tee, ZARA trousers (similar) and bag, BooHoo shoes

How gorgeous are these shoes?! I got them off BooHoo with such a good discount! I think I only paid half of the price for these beauties! I literally felt so cool in this outfit post! I felt like a little boy, but the shoes made it more feminine. Sometimes you just come across something you bought ages ago and love it all over again. Those discoveries happen to me all the time and this time and while being on a "I have nothing to wear, but actually have a closet full of clothes, but still have nothing to wear." closet rant I rediscovered these Zara trousers I got on sale in January. Does anyone else have those closet rants? I can't be the only one right?!

15 May 2015

ZARA tee, Mango trousers (similar), Converse All Stars

This week has gone by unbelievably fast. It's probably because of all the weird holidays we're currently having, which means that you'll get a few days off uni for no reason, but you won't hear me complaining! I am loving the days off and am trying to get ahead of my exams by coming up with ideas and planning in some blogposts for when I actually start my exams in June. I am definitely getting the hang of everything now and feel a lot less stressed. Somehow you adapt to different situations and eventually manage to work your way through it. It usually happens quite fast, but it took me a little longer to manage my job, uni and my blog all at the same time. But eventually it did happen and a weight has been lifted off of my shoulders!

13 May 2015

H&M shoes, Adidas Superstar trainers, Chanel Chance Eau Fraiche perfume, Read This If You Want To Take Great Photographs book, Iconemesis iPhone 6 case*

Five favourites posts can be quite hard to write. Sometimes I don't even realize how much I love a certain item until I have to think about it. I thought that I hadn't really been loving anything in particular in April, so secretly put this post off for ages. When I scrolled through my blog posts and instagram posts I discovered that these are the items I've been loving this month. This post has been long overdue, so let's bite the bullet and get on with my five favourites of April!

First thing are these H&M shoes that I got in the beginning of April. You probably know the story as I wrote a specific story about them here. Long story short, I had been looking for these for ages after I spotted them on a girl in town and eventually found them. They appear to be glued to my feet.

Next are another pair of shoes, they are the Adidas Superstar trainers. For some reason I've been leaning towards these a lot more during April. It might be due to the annoyingly painful blister I got from the Stan Smith trainers or because I just am feeling the monochrome this month! These trainers have been my go-to shoes when I wanted to be comfortable at uni!

Whenever it starts to get spring and the sun isn't afraid to show its face anymore, I tend to go for fresher, more lightweight perfumes. This fragrance has been a long time favourite of mine. Of course I am talking about the Chanel Chance Eau Fraîche. I first received it as a little present from my besties whom I have known since I was younger. Ever since I first spritzed on this scent on my birthday it became my go-to spring/summer fragrance. It's - like the title says - fresh, which is perfect for this time of the year! I am absolutely horrible at describing scents, so I would recommend giving it a sniff if you haven't already!

I go through phases of loving to read. April has been a month like that. I felt the need to start reading something and decided to go for this book called Read This If You Want To Take Great Photographs - and the title kinda speaks for itself. I love getting to know more about photography and this book inspired me with lots of new ideas for Style and Sushi. So when I have my summer holiday I will be spending time to go through this book one more time and also work on the photography skills and ideas!

My last favourite is this iPhone 6 case that Iconemesis kindly sent me. I have loved their cases since forever and I remember doing a giveaway with Iconemesis on my blog in the beginning years of Style and Sushi. Therefore Iconemesis will always have a special place in my heart. This is one of my favourite cases of them as it's just so calm! I was in desperate need of a new iPhone case so this also came in quite handy. I absolutely love this case and get so many compliments on it! It's on sale now too!

12 May 2015

H&M duster coat (similar) and t-shirt dress (similar), Adidas Superstar trainers, Céline sunnies

Procrastinating seems to be new thing for me. I've been putting everything off lately for no real reason. All I want to do is lie in bed, read books and catch up on Scandal. So if I'm not trying to procrastinate as much as possible, I run errands. Since the weather finally decided to be a bit better again, I went for my t-shirt dress and duster coat. It's my go to outfit when the weather is allowing me to go out bare legged!

9 May 2015

ZARA blazer (similar), H&M tee, ASOS jeans, Converse All Stars

Summer is the perfect reason to start wearing more whites, and so I did. I got this blazer on sale last year at Zara and I haven't worn it as much as I liked. Since whites are always kinda big during summer, I thought this was the perfect opportunity to start wearing this blazer again. I am loving all the all white outfits for summer, so I think I might have to add some white bottoms to my collection to recreate an all white outfit with this beautiful blazer, which you won't see the last of just yet!
