OUTFIT | TRAVEL OUTFIT + TIPS

Travelling is one of my favourite things to do in the world. I love discovering the world, I love being at the airport. As soon as I reach airport grounds I feel as if I am away on holiday. This year I thought it would be fun to share some of my travel tips and my travel with you, as I have been lucky enough to away on holiday by plane for as long as I can remember. Over the years I have made quite a few mistakes while going away for holidays, and that usually ended up in feeling stressed.

I feel like over the years I learnt from my mistake. To help you and me prevent ourselves from making these mistakes in the future, I am sharing my tips on here now!

Put all of your important belongings, such as your passport, boarding pass and your wallet in a separate bag.

Things like your passport, boarding pass and your wallet are items that you constantly need to get out of your bag when you're at the airport. If you put these important belongings like your boarding pass, passport, your wallet (or the key to open your suitcase!) in that separate bag and always put these things in there while you're at the airport you can't lose anything. You're no longer rummaging through your carry on luggage for ages to find your passport or your wallet. And when you've arrived to your destination, you're not stuck searching for your suitcase key for ages.

Wear comfortable clothing

Comfort is key. Comfort basically is my life, but especially on airplanes comfortable clothing is key! If there's one thing I learned from travelling, it's to never travel in shorts. Being the stubborn teenager that I was at fifteen, I decided to travel from Spain to the Netherlands in denim shorts. I was stuck in a really, really chilly airplane for 2,5 hours and the seating felt as if it wasn't clean. Then when I came home to The Netherlands, I was welcomed back with pooring rain. To say I learned my lesson is an understatement. Ever since that moment I have learnt to not do that anymore.
Nowadays I usually wear culottes or boyfriend jeans on a flight to somewhere warm, as they're the most comfortable thing to wear. On top I usually wear a tee that I know is comfortable and I wear some pair of trainers I know I can walk in for a longer while. Travelling in heels, no thank you!

Wear layers on the plane (it can get quite cold)

I also like to bring either a jacket, cardigan or jumper on the flight, so I can put that on whenever I am cold. Like I said before, it can get quite cold on the flight. So you definitely will be needing that jacket, cardigan or jumper with you on the flight. This year I brought my black denim jacket on the flight with me, just in case I got cold.

Don't wear too much makeup

When I just got into makeup, I was usually putting on some foundation the morning before I leave. Nowadays I just put on some mascara and some eyebrow pencil. Flying is horrible for your skin as it dries your skin out quite badly. Besides that, I also felt like I got even more pimples from flying. To prevent myself from having any more breakouts while being away on holiday, I usually only put on some really hydrating moisturizer and SPF. That way, I feel like my skin is not as dehydrated as it used to be.

Don't wear a lot of metal things

I am not one to wear jewellery, belts or other metal things while I am flying. I like to think that's because of how much energy it actually costs having to take everything off while being in line for the security check. I usually only ever travel with either my watch, or no jewellery at all. It's easiest, as you can just walk through the metal detector without having to go back three times.

What I'm wearing:
Pretty Little Thing denim jacket
H&M tee (similar)
ZARA culottes
Vans old skool trainers
(old) Zara shopper
