THE CITY GUIDE | MARBELLA CITY GUIDE

I am back from my holiday and I am kicking things off with another city guide! I have been really loving doing these posts lately, as you could have seen in my previous City Guide posts. This time I will be sharing all of my favourite places in Marbella with you. I have been coming here for as long as I can remember, so it's safe to say that I know my way around.

Over the past two to three years, I have been really into discovering new places around town and I definitely made a little shortlist of the places you need to visit while you're in Marbella!

WHERE TO SIGHTSEE

When you're in Marbella, you can't not go to Puerto Banus. It's the port of Marbella and they have the most insane yachts there. I like to stroll around there during the evening, just looking at the yachts and have a drink somewhere afterwards.
My favourite part of being in Marbella however is discovering the Old Town. I love discovering all the cute little streets and to wander through all the squares. My favourite square is Plaza de Los Naranjos. The little streets in the Old Town go on for ages and just look absolutely gorgeous.

THE TASTIEST GAMBAS PIL PIL

While we're still in the Old Town of Marbella, I would like to introduce you to the best Gambas Pil Pil of Marbella. They're basically prawns that are cooked in a boiling hot oil with garlic, red pepper and lots of other yummy things. My favourite place to eat the Gambas Pil Pil is Gran Plaza near Plaza de Los Naranjos. I usually only order that there for lunch or early dinner and then leave. It's probably the best Gambas Pil Pil I have had and everyone who comes to eat that here with me is just as enthusiastic.

FOOD

This year I really discovered the best places to eat at. We particularly had either breakfast or lunch at these places and it was so yummy! The first restaurant is Celicioso, where I had really yummy Matcha Pancakes. All the other times we went the food was amazing too, I highly recommend visiting this restaurant while you're in Marbella! Around the corner there's Rachel's Eco Love, and they do some really good juices, as well as Acai Bowls and Avocado toast.

BRUNCH/LUNCH

If you're looking for some really nice, but not too expensive lunch, then I would recommend going to The Fresh Food Cafe. They have the best wraps and salad bowls there. My favourite dish there is this salmon bowl with quinoa, edamame, avocado and mango. Everything there is just generally really tasty and the staff is very friendly! I would highly recommend it!

ACAI BOWLS

You probably have seen me rave about the Organic Cold Pressed Juicery in Marbella on Instagram this past month. I have been absolutely living for their acai bowls. It's the most delicious thing I have had in a long time and I am so looking forward to going back just for this acai bowl.

ICE CREAM

We discovered some really tasty ice cream in Marbella this year. The place is called Heladería Giolatto Marbella. While we were there the staff weren't the nicest, but the ice cream was so good! I loved their dark chocolate ice cream. So tasty!

BEACH/POOL CLUBS

I am not one to go and party in my bikini at the beach or pool clubs in Spain and feel like it gets a bit too crowded. I like to think that I have had my fair share being there while I was (a lot) younger (due to my older cousins). If you're in Marbella and would like to take some time off at a beach or pool club with some music, I would recommend going to Nao Pool Club, Ocean Club or Nikki Beach Marbella. The food at these places is nice too, so you could easily spend a whole day at those beach/pool clubs.

Ocean Club,29660 Marbella, Málaga, Spain
Nikki Beach Marbella, Carretera de Cádiz, Km. 192, 29600 Marbella, Málaga, Spain

This is just a short little list of all the places I have been to. There actually are a lot more of places that I like to visit, so just like my other City Guide, I also made a Google Maps with all of my Marbella recommendations/places I still like to go.

  1. I always associate Marbella with the posher end of the party destinations but after reading this I've realised there is a lot more to it! The old town definitely looked like a place I would love!

    1. Yesss! I think that's what everyone does. That's what I used to do too and I never really appreciated my holidays. Nowadays I just prefer strolling around the old town and avoid those kind of scenes! So much more up my street :) xx
