FINDING MY SS18 STYLE

Happy Valentine's Day! People either hate this day with a passion or love this day. I am not sure on which side I am on, mainly because I get mixed feelings about this day. Aren't we always supposed the ones we love show our love throughout the year? Not just on Valentine's Day? Anyway that's always something my friends and I are discussing whenever this time of year comes around again.

Anyway, I am not going to moan about Valentine's Day and I am going to talk you through my style rut that I am kind of going through. It feels like I have been wearing knits for absolutely ages now, and to be fair, that's kind of true. I have been wearing my knits since September and barely bought any new tops. Right now I feel like I am just so over wearing knits so I am hoping to update my wardrobe a bit. I am definitely a knits kind of girl, but during the end of the winter season, I am just so over the colder days and my winter wardrobe.

I am hoping to soon start building my Spring/Summer Wardrobe for 2018. However I do find it quite hard to think about what kind of style I like at the moment. I feel like the things that are being sold at the high street at the moment aren't really 'my style' anymore. So I am having a difficult time finding pieces that I love. I'm not sure if it's something that evolved in my personal style or whether it has to do with the fact that I am not loving the very colourful 70's, 80's and 90's items of clothing that are currently being found everywhere. I guess it's just a process of kind of wanting to rediscover my style, what I like and how I want to make sure I stay true to me.

So what I am hoping to do in the upcoming weeks, is to browse some of my favourite shops such as Weekday, Cos, H&M, ASOS and MissGuided to get some inspiration. To start buying my SS18 wardrobe. Maybe I even need to start creating a little moodboard for myself, to figure out what kind of style I like, what kind of fabrics I enjoy and stuff like that. Right now I am just very overwhelmed by lots of prints that are really 'out there' and lots of extremely flared trousers that only look good on girls that are twice my length and half my size.

Would you think that this process of finding my new SS18 style be interesting to share on here? I would love to know! Back in the days I used to do lots of inspiration and wishlist posts, but somewhere along the way I stopped doing those. I am definitely up for browsing the internet for new inspiration and would love to share it with you, if this is something you're interested in.

What I'm wearing:
Sissy Boy coat (similar)
H&M knit
Mango trousers (similar)
Vans Old Skool trainers
Rika bag

  3. Oh I think inspiration posts are great to get you in the mood for buying new clothes. I've also been wearing knitwear for ages because it's too cold to go out in just a top, can't wait for spring to finally roll in! Your outfit looks great too xx

  4. It's always hard to pinpoint what your style is, but I think a moodboard is a great idea. Have you read the book the curated closet? I think it's perfect for finding your style!

  7. "Twice my length and half my size" quote rings so true for me too girl! So many of the trends, especially right now are geared towards that very specific body and just look frumpy on me no matter how I try to style them. Would love to see how this process of getting your style back goes. 😘
