TRANSITIONING WINTER TO SPRING LOOK

Last week was weird. We had some extremely cold weather and we even had snow in the beginning of March. To me that’s pretty insane, and I am pretty sure that I have never seen snow during March. It’s been weird to think about spring with last week’s cold weather, but I am slowly but surely transitioning my daily outfits from winter to spring, and this outfit is one of my go-to outfits for this type of weather. It consists of a few standard items in my wardrobe that are definitely worth mentioning.

01. Lightweight wool coat

The first thing to make an outfit transition from winter to spring is a lightweight wool coat. It's essential to have one here in The Netherlands. This first month of transitioning to spring is always weird. I find that it can still be really chilly, especially during the mornings it's extra chilly. So I like to wear wool coats during the beginning of spring. This particular coat that I am wearing is from Bershka and I bought it about six months ago. It’s such a good coat to keep you warm during chilly mornings, or even during colder spring days.

02. Striped tee

Next is something that comes as no surprise, it’s a striped tee. Is a 'classic Laura' look even completed without me wearing a striped tee? Striped tees are always part of my uniform. My friends would always tell me that I would wear striped tees to much. It's just such an easy way to incorporate some sort of a print into an outfit. This past year I have been loving all the cute striped tees with a little embroidered word or detail added to it.

Depending on whether it’s chilly or not, I would either wear a long sleeved striped tee or a short sleeved striped tee. My favourite striped tees are usually bought at H&M. This particular one I am wearing is a newer purchase from H&M and I love it so much because of the little L'amour embroidery on the boob.

03. Boyfriend jeans

To make my outfits seem a little bit more ‘spring-esque’, I love to add a pair of boyfriend jeans. I am currently really having a moment with boyfriend jeans. They are my favourite thing ever and I constantly rave about them to basically everyone. They're so comfortable and so great to hide a food baby in. Right now I am wearing black ripped boyfriend jeans, but nowadays I can be found in blue coloured boyfriend jeans to. This spring I like to add a bit of colour to my wardrobe by wearing blue, light coloured jeans.

04. Trainers

Now it wouldn’t be a Laura kind of outfit if I didn’t end this look with a pair of trainers. Right now I am having another moment with another item of clothing. It's this old pair of Adidas Superstar trainers again. I don’t know why I stopped wearing them, but these trainers are so darn comfortable! Gross story, but last week I had an infected toe and these were the only shoes that were the only pair of shoes that were comfortable enough to wear around town. These trainers can be paired with absolutely anything. So it's no surprise that I have been wearing these so much lately that they have basically come back as my spring uniform.

What I'm wearing:
Bershka coat (similar)
H&M tee
H&M boyfriend jeans (similar)
Adidas Superstar trainers
Lancaster bag
