EVERYTHING I WORE IN MARBELLA

It’s finally here, I finally got my butt into gear and edited my holiday outfits from Marbella. I thought it would be fun to end this week with a little recap from my holiday in Marbella to forget about the rainy, grey and dark weather we have had this past week. Looking back at these outfits I actually get shivers down my spine, as it has been so cold here in The Netherlands this week. I am sitting behind my desk in four layers of clothing and covered in a blanket to keep myself a bit warmer. It’s not actually that cold yet, but somehow the reality of autumn hit me harder than I thought it would after coming back from my holiday last week.
In case you didn’t know or don’t follow me on Instagram, I went away on holiday in September. I had planned ahead all of the posts for the blog to properly enjoy the holiday and take some time off. And I definitely did that. We had the most glorious holiday in Marbella. For me this holiday was all about good food, good company, relaxing and doing nothing but reading books, enjoying the sunshine and the pool. It’s what we spend most of the holiday doing and those three weeks in Spain totally flew by.

Marbella is often seen as the city to go to if you want to have a good time and love glamour. It’s especially like that during the high season. I have been going to Marbella since I was a little girl, so to me it doesn’t feel like that whatsoever. To me going to Marbella is like coming home in another country. It’s basically my home away from home that I always look forward to going back to every summer. Before we always used to go when it was high season in August as I was always bound to the summer holidays. Last year we went a bit earlier then usual, in July and loved how it was still quite quiet there. This year we decided to go in September, as I would not be as bound to university anymore. I only have my dissertation left to finish before I graduate and don’t follow any more classes or courses.
September was definitely a lot quieter to go to Marbella and I was definitely here for that since some peace and quiet was all I wanted after a very hectic year at uni with my dissertation and stuff. Even though I loved doing absolutely nothing while at holiday, we did go out and have fun exploring my favourite parts of Marbella, such as the old town and discovering new restaurants. This made me super excited to have some more fun with my wardrobe while I was in Marbella.

Even though we had a bit of rain a couple of days while we were there because of this storm that was going over Spain, it was still a bit humid during our stay. Other days where the sun was out, it was just absolutely boiling, which I was not complaining about at all I loved it. When I arrived the first day this loser was wearing her super warm and cosy cardigan. I definitely did not need that cardigan during the days while we were there. I obviously packed way too much stuff and only wore half I brought with me, as I just wanted to wear clothes I felt super comfortable. This meant I truthfully, basically only wore light layers of clothing.

I’m back home now; Marbella was lovely and now seems like a distant memory already. This holiday was everything I needed and more. I loved spending time in the sun and definitely feel like I have not been this chilled in a long time, even if it has been quite hard to adjust to the autumnal, cold and rainy weather. I feel like I slowly am starting to accept that summer is really over now. I tried to rewire my brain a bit to start getting into the autumnal vibes. On Tuesday I actually woke up feeling excited about getting my jumpers and boots out again and getting back into posts on the blog.
