FIVE FAVOURITES | OCTOBER

3 November 2018

October has been such a hectic month. It has definitely been a month where I have had to struggle quite a bit with anxiety. Anxiety usually comes with me doubting myself even more than normal and also feeling a little bit more insecure than I normally would. I guess that’s something we can all relate with. Throughout the month of October I really noticed that I needed to find comfort and confidence in hanging out with friends, family, but mostly in products that brought me comfort and confidence. These five products have really helped me through this month and as these have helped me I really wanted to share them in this month’s five favourites post.

Ace & Tate Lily glasses

In September I got myself a new pair of glasses at Ace & Tate. I had this spontaneous moment where I felt like I needed to get myself a new pair of clear glasses. I had been looking for autumn inspiration online and found lots of inspiration in people wearing these sort of glasses. So about a week later I decided to get myself a pair too. I mainly bought myself this pair of glasses because I honestly felt like they would look so cute for autumn.

I am usually a contacts kind of person. You won’t really see me wearing my glasses anywhere outside the house as I find contacts just a lot easier. Because I had such bad anxiety during the month of October, I also started getting really bad headaches and my eyes got very sensitive. This led to me actually wearing these glasses so much more during the month of October than I normally would wear glasses. But not only did these glasses serve a true purpose, I could see again, I also loved to style them with a couple of outfits.

Vichy Dermablend powder

October also has been a month where my skin started to really act up. I noticed that my face was also having quite a hard time with me feeling extra anxious. I felt super insecure about breaking out and really felt like I needed a bit more coverage. That’s why I quickly came back to one of my favourite powders, which is the Vichy Dermablend Powder. This is one of those products that immediately helps me feel a lot more confident as soon as I put it on. When I started using this product again in the beginning of October, I remembered why I love it so much. This gives just the right amount of coverage and blends like a dream. This powder instantly makes me feel confident, which is just what I was after in October.

Lancome Monsieur Big mascara

Another product that has given me great confidence during October is one of my favourite mascaras. I completely forgot about this Lancome Monsieur Big mascara and when I had run out of the last mascara I love using, I repurchased this one. I remembered how much I loved using this mascara last year and the gorgeous results it gave me. I have really long lashes from myself, so I am never really looking for mascaras that are lengthening. I am much more interested in mascaras that give great volume, and this mascara does exactly that. I have not stopped using this mascara since the beginning of October and I think I will continue to use it for a little while. Although I do think it might had been better to repurchase the waterproof version of this, as this definitely is not waterproof whatsoever and I definitely did need a waterproof version of this in October.

This Works Sleep Power Nap Spray*

The lovely girls from This Works contacted me on whether I would like to receive some of their products. Of course I jumped to this opportunity, as I love their This Works Deep Pillow Spray. I had recently given my Deep Sleep pillow spray to my cousin as she had trouble falling asleep. Little did I know that it would need it myself so soon after too. That’s why I am super thankful that This Works contacted me with a this This Works Sleep Power Nap Spray.

Even though this is supposed to be a product that helps you fall asleep for a power nap, I love using this at night. This product contains the same formula as the This Works Deep Pillow Spray, and to me it pretty much smells the same. So that’s why I also love using this product to fall asleep at night. I notice such a difference if I use this to fall asleep. Falling asleep is easier when I use this product. My brain tends to go into overdrive and I often struggle with insomnia, so I am always looking for new things to help me fall asleep. So yes, over the past month I have been loving using this spray to fall asleep while still feeling super anxious.

Adidas Yung 96-J trainers

Finally the last thing I have loved in October is one of those controversial kinds of fashion items: ugly white trainers. These Adidas Yung 96 trainers definitely are not a favourite of my cousins and whenever I wear them they’re just give me these really funny comments. Anyway, my friends do love them and I have had lots of you on Instagram asking me where my shoes are from. These Adidas trainers have been such a staple in my wardrobe in October. It’s funny how even a pair of trainers can give you some sort of reassurance and confidence that you’re sometimes after.

Besides the fact that these trainers give me confidence, I also thing they are a great dupe for some of the more expensive dad trainers out there. These trainers are from Adidas and are actually from the kids’ section. I initially wanted to get myself the Adidas Yung 1 trainers but could not hunt them down in my size, which is why I ended up getting this pair. And to be brutally honest, I think I love these so much more than the Yung 1’s.
